Betzet Beach is a lovely strip of Mediterranean sea shore. Untouched and gorgeous, filled with unique sea life, from crabs to sea dwelling humans... At the start of 2010 a plan was authorized to transform this lovely piece of nature into an exclusive resort for the reach and famous of Israel. A group of green activists came together to try and prevent this atrocity.

I heard about the plans to destroy Betzet from friends of mine, and decided to go up there and do what i can to help. I spent 10 days up on the beach, mostly on my own though some friends did drop in to visit. I have no other way to put this - I fell in love with the little beach. I tried documenting the pure beauty of the beach as well as its effects on my self and friends. I'm glad to say that the efforts by activists accompanied by my photographs won and the plans to flatten this little island of sanity in the middle of one of the world's craziest regions were cancelled. Since 2010 I have gone up to Betzet several times, just to say hi, and make sure its still there.

A struggle for sanity.
